Partner Benjamin Stein discusses New York City’s recently enacted biometrics ordinance in a new article in Cybersecurity Law Report. (Note that subscription or registration for a free trial is required to access the full article.)

The ordinance, which we previously discussed here, took effect last month and requires - among other things - that commercial establishments that operate in the city and collect biometric identifiers (e.g., through the use of facial-recognition technology in security cameras) post a notice of that collection at all points of entry.
